Last Trips Before Baby!

 

 

We crammed in two fun trips before baby brother arrives in 4 WEEKS!!  We say 4 weeks, but Mommy is already 1cm dilated!!!  Goodness!

We were invited up to Kure Beach, NC by our good friend Emerson!  (well by her mommy and daddy!)  We went up on Wednesday morning and drove back Friday!  The weather was amazing...not too hot, it was perfect!  The water was a little rough...Daddy said there was some sort of storm off of the coast somewhere?  Who knows!  

 

 

Kiley was definitely in her element playing in the sand all day!  I loved playing in the water, more like chasing the waves rather than playing in the waves!!  

Friday we drove down to the NC Aquarium at Fort Fisher and saw the fishies and sharks!  

 

Then we took the Southport Ferry over to Southport to enjoy lunch in town.  We went to an ice cream shop/candy world/christmas store.....GLORIOUS is all I can say about that place!  

  

 

Mommy really wanted to stay another night at the beach so we tried to find a cheap hotel to stay in in Wrightsville...but that didn't happen!  Kiley cried for at least an hour when we told her we weren't going back to the beach that day.  (Mommy did too - on the inside!)

Trip #2

Sunday we drove to Charlotte, NC to go with Daddy on a work conference trip.  We ate lunch at The Iron Skillet where they had RAPUNZEL frying pans to eat out of!!  

Kiley thought that was the best thing EVER!  I guess I did too!

 

We stayed at a really nice hotel and visited IKEA when we got there!  OH MY GOODNESS.....Mommy thought IKEA was a dream land of cheap, well made goodies! 

 I just liked to play in the ball pit kid area!  

When Daddy was at the conference Mommy took us to Ray's Splash Planet to play!  I finally mastered the skill of doing a front flip under water, AND I swam all by myself in a whirlpool!  Kiley is finally getting less afraid of putting her head under water!  The goggles seem to help a lot!

   

We went put-putting the next day!  I got a HOLE IN ONE!  Yay me!  Kiley came really close to getting PAR at every hole! Seriously...she was really good at it!

 

I think that's about it!  We're home to stay until Benjamin arrives!  Summer Rocks!

Shower

 

Wow!  Just had baby Benjamin's shower!  Mimi and Aunt Laura put together a wonderful party, filled with baby bottles of jelly beans and glass bowls of M&Ms!!  Mommy would like to add that there was WAY more to eat than M&Ms, but that's all I really cared about, so...................;)

  

The decorations where so cute!  All blue and baby!  There was delicious cake to eat and we played funny games!  My favorite one was when we drew a picture of a baby on a plate ON TOP of our heads!  Mommy picked the most realistic picture to win the prize!  I was a close second!  

Kiley and I helped Mommy open presents!  Benjamin got so many cute things, including "Vans" shoe baby socks and "golf" baby socks from Grandma and Grandpa Pond!  He also got some adorable onesies that have a ROCK STAR theme with drums on them!  That's my kind of attire!!  Mommy got her diaper bag from GG and diaper caddy from Grandma and Granddaddy!  Aunt Laura gave Benjamin a really cute baseball step stool too!  I'll have to take a picture of it!  Mommy says to thank you ALL for all the other muchly needed and cute baby gifts as well!  Benjamin is loved!

And Thank you to my Aunt Rebekah and nieces Greer, McLaren, Charity, and Ellie for coming all the way from Kernersville, NC!  It wouldn't have been the same without you!

    

THANK YOU Aunt Laura and Mimi again for putting so much heart and love into Benjamin's shower!  It's so OBViOuS just how incredible you both are!! hee hee

Preparing for Baby Brother!

Guess who's almost here!  Baby Benjamin!  Kiley and I are so excited!  We kiss mommy's tummy and pray that he is healthy ALL the time!
  I really hope he appreciates this.....;)

We've gotten his room painted and have some baby stuff all ready.  Still need to hang pictures. Daddy has lots on the 3rd floor about baseball we're gonna use to

 make it base-bally, so we're almost there!  

 

 

Benjamin's shower is on June 5 at Aunt Laura's house!  Kiley and I are gonna go and help Mommy open presents!  Mimi is helping Aunt Laura with the shower too!  

This baby boy is already loved so much!

WE GOT A SWING SET!  Awesome!  Mommy finally found a FREE swing set A-frame online the other day.  So Daddy went and disassembled it (took 3 hours!!) then brought it home!  

Papa and Daddy worked 3 MORE hours to get it back up and running!  

Mimi and Papa bought us each a swing and then we got some rings and bar to flip on!! 

 Later we'll get a baby swing for Benjamin!  He's gonna love it!

Well.....that's all right now!  He'll be here in less than 8 weeks!!  (we think)

P.S.  Kiley loves ice cream....and I'm an ice cream head!

Kiley Turned 4 !

 

My sister is four now.  I guess that means she's just a little smarter now and can do a bit more things on her own....BUT, I still have to tell her HOW to do things all the time. 

 I AM her big sister, of course!

We had her party on Sunday-April 22, 2012.  We were going to have it at a park in Garner, NC but it rained all day and it was yucky!  So we had it at our house!  Crazy, but fun!  I got to play with some of my cousins and Kiley got to have everyone's attention on her!  She loves that!

Camping Time

We did it! We finally went camping! Daddy bought Mommy a tent for her birthday in December and we finally used it! Ha! Mommy went camping ALL the time when she was little and loved it and now I do too! So does Kiley!
Man that girl LOVES anything out of the ordinary!




We got all packed up and headed to Falls Lake to camp for one night! It took awhile to find the perfect spot (close to a bathroom for Mommy) and one that we could walk to the fishing pier from. Well....we found the bathroom site and had to drive to the pier, but it all worked out!





Check in was at 4 p.m. We got there a little early and had our hammock, tent, and fire pit all ready for cooking dinner by 5:30!! Hot dogs, and corn on the cob for din din,
then toasty hot s'mores for dessert! yummy!

Sleeping in the tent was fun...but it got really cold. We all woke up when the birdies started chirping and the rooster crowed! We started another fire to warm us up and Daddy put fishing tackle on our fishing poles! We fished on the pier until Kiley pooped out! Didn't catch anything but Daddy says that's why they call it 'fishing' and not 'catching!
Grandpa Pond would have been proud of my casting skills! hee hee!

Can't wait to do it again! Maybe in a couple of weeks!
Mommy says she has the 'camping bug' now!
